WATERMARK (1988)

E’ sicuramente l’album che ha fatto conoscere Enya e la sua musica in tutto il mondo. Preceduto dalla hit single Orinoco Flow (1988) - noto anche come Sail Away - l’album è stato considerato come un esempio della musica new age anche se la stessa Enya ritenne che Watermark e la sua musica non fossero da accostare a questo genere. La versione pubblicata per la WEA contiene 11 tracce, mentre la versione americana pubblicata per l’etichetta Reprise conteneva come extra track Storms in Africa (Part II). Tra gli altri singoli estratti bisogna ricordare Evening Falls... (1988), Storms In Africa (1989) ed Exile (1991) che sarà utilizzato nelle colonne sonore dei film Green Card e L.A. Story. Nel marzo 2009 l’album è stato ripubblicato (solo per il mercato giapponese) in edizione deluxe contenente come bonus tracks Storms in Africa (Part II) e Morning Glory, b-side apparsa per la prima volta nel 1988 sul singolo Evening Falls...
